Our firm represented a badminton club in proceedings concerning a request by a 14-year-old player to leave the club and transfer to another club.

The club opposed the transfer, arguing that the player was required to comply with the provisions of the Israeli Sports Law or, alternatively, pay compensation to the club for the transfer.

On appeal, the Magistrates’ Court accepted the club’s position regarding compensation and ruled that the player must pay the club NIS 24,000 as a condition for the transfer.
